Marco Polo is one of Carroll Gardens’ most popular and longstanding Italian restaurants, launched in 1983 by industry renowned restaurateur Joseph Chirico.

Crown took an iconic aging venue and breathed new life into it, allowing the restaurant to stay current with the changing neighborhood demographic. The restaurant which once possessed bright orange signage, a dark wood entrance and a green awning now stands out with a clean scripted typeface, glass-paneled doors and expanded sidewalk cafe. Historic photos of Venice have been transformed into large acrylic works of art. The dining tables have a more modern, bistro aesthetic and from the ceilings, bright ribbon-like lighting elements hang bringing the room to life. Mr. Chirico has collected some of the world’s finest wines through the years, which are now showcased in an intimate wine cellar.

Crown’s redesign of Marco Polo not only complimented the amazing food but ensured that a neighborhood staple continues.
